Mouse Taste receptor type 2 member 38 (Tas2r38) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse Taste receptor type 2 member 38 (TAS2R38), a putative taste receptor involved in the perception of bitterness. It accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and is intended for research use only within sensory and neuroscience research.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.312ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.9% and inter-assay CV is 9.4%. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse TAS2R38. Recovery averages 88% (range 82-94%) in serum and 90% (range 84-96%) in plasma.

TAS2R38 is a multi-pass membrane protein of the taste receptor family (UniProt Q7TQA6). Also referenced as T2R138, mT2R31, T2R38, T2r31 and Tas2r138, it is studied in mouse models for its contribution to bitter taste detection, feeding behaviour and dietary preference.
