Mouse Superoxide dismutase [Cu-Zn] (Sod1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this ELISA kit is designed for the measurement of mouse Superoxide dismutase [Cu-Zn] (SOD1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The competitive assay offers a detection range of 1.56-100U/mL and a sensitivity of 0.78U/mL, with specificity for natural and recombinant mouse SOD1. Reported precision includes an intra-assay CV of 4.7% and an inter-assay CV of 9.5%.

Linearity has been evaluated across serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery ranges from 96-108% in serum (average 102%) and 98-110% in plasma (average 104%). SOD1 is a homodimeric enzyme (UniProt P08228; 17.8 kDa) localised to the cytoplasm and nucleus, where it destroys radicals normally produced within cells and which are toxic to biological systems. Dysregulation of SOD1 has been implicated in a range of diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. The kit is intended for research use only and supports work in the neurosciences.
