Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse SUMO-conjugating enzyme UBC9 (Ube2i). The assay supports research into SUMOylation, the ubiquitin-like modification process that regulates protein function, localisation and stability. Dysregulation of SUMOylation has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and inflammatory conditions, making UBC9 a relevant target when investigating disease mechanisms and potential therapeutics.

The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with mouse samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. It recognises natural and recombinant mouse SUMO-conjugating enzyme UBC9, with a reported detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.159ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.1% and inter-assay CV is 7.5%. Sample types, linearity and recovery data for serum and plasma matrices are provided in the kit documentation.

UBC9 (UniProt P63280, molecular weight 18kDa) accepts the ubiquitin-like modifiers SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 from the UBLE1A-UBLE1B E1 complex and catalyses their covalent attachment to substrate proteins with the help of E3 ligases such as RANBP2, CBX4 and ZNF451, and can also catalyse the formation of poly-SUMO chains. The protein is localised mainly to the nucleus and the kit falls within the epigenetics research area. For research use only.
