Quantitative measurement of mouse Sperm Specific Antigen 2 (SSFA2) in laboratory specimens is enabled by this colorimetric ELISA kit from Assay Genie, supplied as a 96 assays pack intended for research use only. SSFA2 has been investigated in the context of male reproductive biology, particularly spermatogenesis and germ cell differentiation, making the kit relevant for researchers exploring testicular proteomics, sperm maturation markers, or genetic models that affect male fertility in the mouse.

The assay follows an immunocapture workflow carried out on a pre-coated microplate, with a biotinylated detection antibody and an HRP-conjugated streptavidin reporting step. TMB substrate develops the enzymatic color reaction once detection binding is complete, and a stop solution is added before absorbance is read on a standard plate reader. A standard curve generated from the recombinant SSFA2 calibrators supplied with the kit is then used to interpolate antigen concentrations in unknown samples prepared from mouse sources.

For reagent stability, unopened kit components should be refrigerated and protected from light until first use. Reconstituted standards and concentrated detection reagent are best aliquoted and frozen at low temperature for longer-term storage, with limited freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody binding activity. Bring all reagents to room temperature before running the assay, and refer to the enclosed protocol for recommended sample dilution factors, wash stringency, and incubation times validated on mouse specimens.
