Mouse Sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase (Smpd1) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of mouse Sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase (Smpd1), also known as acid sphingomyelinase (ASMase, Asm), in serum and plasma samples, as well as tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a detection range of 0.312-20ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.156ng/mL. Reported intra-assay precision is 6.9% CV and inter-assay precision is 8.8% CV. Specificity is for natural and recombinant mouse Sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (89-102% to 107-117%), EDTA plasma (94-104% to 116-126%) and heparin plasma (100-108% to 111-121%) across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. Recovery averages 85% (range 80-91%) for serum and 87% (range 81-93%) for plasma.

SMPD1 functions as a lysosomal monomer that converts sphingomyelin to ceramide and also exhibits phospholipase C activity toward 1,2-diacylglycerolphosphocholine and 1,2-diacylglycerolphosphoglycerol (UniProt Q04519), and is associated with cardiovascular research. The kit is supplied with a dismountable microplate, lyophilised standard, sample diluent, assay diluents A and B, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate solution, stop solution and plate sealers, with storage temperatures specified per component.
