Mouse SPARC (Sparc) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for quantitative detection of mouse SPARC (Secreted Protein Acidic and Rich in Cysteine) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse SPARC and is intended for research use only.

Assay performance characteristics: detection range 3.12–200 ng/mL, sensitivity 1.68 ng/mL, intra-assay CV 4.2%, inter-assay CV 5.8%. Spike-and-recovery averages are 115% (109–120%) for serum and 117% (111–120%) for plasma. Linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is reported as 88–97%, 96–109%, 97–107% and 104–114% for serum; 97–107%, 93–102%, 91–101% and 109–119% for EDTA plasma; and 93–93%, 91–103%, 102–114% and 97–106% for heparin plasma.

SPARC is implicated in tissue remodelling, wound healing, cell migration, tumour growth and metastasis, fibrosis and neurodegenerative disorders. The protein regulates cell growth via interactions with the extracellular matrix and cytokines, binding calcium, copper, several collagens, albumin, thrombospondin, PDGF and cell membranes.
