Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate quantification of somatoliberin, also known as Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH), in mouse samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is suited to research in endocrinology and growth-related disorders, where GHRH is studied as a regulator of growth hormone secretion and of processes such as growth, metabolism and immune function.

Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit has a reported sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a standard range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL, with absorbance read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution. Kit components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. Validation data include linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 for serum (86–100%, 82–96%, 83–98%), EDTA plasma (85–105%, 83–98%, 86–99%) and heparin plasma (84–100%, 81–97%, 93–104%), and recovery ranges of 87–105% (serum, average 95%), 85–104% (EDTA plasma, average 92%) and 88–103% (heparin plasma, average 95%).

The procedure is a six-step protocol: equilibrate reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature; load standards, samples and blanks for a 90-minute incubation at 37°C; add biotin-labelled detection antibody and incubate for 60 minutes at 37°C; add HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes at 37°C; develop colour with TMB substrate for 10–20 minutes in the dark; then add stop solution and read absorbance at 450 nm. The associated UniProt entry is P16043, and listed synonyms include Ghrh, GRF, GHRF, Somatorelin, Somatocrinin and Growth hormone-releasing factor.
