Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit uses a double-antibody, colorimetric format to detect mouse Survival of Motor Neuron 1, Telomeric (SMN1). The target is the SMN1 protein (UniProt P97801), linked to motor neuron survival, and its dysregulation is associated with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The kit is intended for research use in mouse models of SMA and other neurological disorders.

The assay is reactive with mouse samples and validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported sensitivity is 0.938 ng/mL, with a standard range of 1.563–100 ng/mL. Components should be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months. The product is filed under the Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling research area.

Validation data show linearity at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions: serum 91–105% / 87–99% / 83–98%, EDTA plasma 90–105% / 84–97% / 88–104%, and heparin plasma 82–99% / 87–96% / 89–103% (n = 5). Spike-and-recovery averages are 98% in serum, 98% in EDTA plasma, and 95% in heparin plasma, with corresponding ranges of 85–100%, 89–103%, and 91–103% (n = 5). The protocol uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin (SABC), and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm after a stop step.
