Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables the precise measurement of Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 5A (STAT5A) levels in mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant mouse STAT5A, also referred to as Mammary gland factor (Mgf, Mpf). Quantitative performance is supported by a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 15.6pg/mL. Reported linearity in serum (N=5) spans 102-116% across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, EDTA plasma 92-120%, and heparin plasma 83-119%. Recovery in both serum and plasma averages 80% (range 80-80%), with intra-assay and inter-assay CV both reported as 0.0%. The colorimetric sandwich workflow is reactive for mouse samples.

STAT5A carries out a dual function of signal transduction and activation of transcription. It mediates cellular responses to the cytokine KITLG/SCF and other growth factors, may mediate responses to activated FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3 and FGFR4, binds the GAS element to activate PRL-induced transcription, and regulates expression of milk proteins during lactation. Dysregulation of STAT5A has been linked to cancer, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory conditions. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm and translocates into the nucleus upon phosphorylation (UniProt P42230, molecular weight 90,831 Da, NCBI Gene ID 20850). The kit is supplied with a dismountable microplate, lyophilized standard, sample diluent, assay diluents A and B, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate solution, stop solution, and plate sealers, with storage temperatures from -20°C to 4°C. It is intended for research use only, with particular relevance to cancer research applications.
