Mouse Signal transducer and activator of transcription 2 (Stat2) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, the Mouse Stat2 ELISA Kit is a Sandwich ELISA developed for the quantitative detection of Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 2 (STAT2) in mouse samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It recognises both natural and recombinant mouse STAT2, with a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.085 ng/mL.

STAT2 (UniProt Q9WVL2) is a transcription factor of the STAT family that mediates signalling by type I interferons (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta). Following type I IFN binding to cell surface receptors, STAT2 is tyrosine-phosphorylated and dimerises with STAT1. The phosphorylated STAT1:STAT2 heterodimer associates with IRF9 to form the ISGF3 transcription factor complex, which translocates into the nucleus and binds the IFN-stimulated response element (ISRE) to drive the transcription of interferon-stimulated genes. STAT2 also acts as a regulator of mitochondrial fission by modulating phosphorylation of DNM1L at Ser-616 and Ser-637. The protein is localised to the cytoplasm and nucleus, with a reported molecular weight of 105,417 Da (NCBI Gene ID 20847).
