Description

Designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Serpin A12 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie offers high sensitivity and specificity for a variety of research applications.

Serpin A12, also known as Vaspin (visceral adipose tissue-derived serine protease inhibitor), is a member of the serine protease inhibitor (serpin) superfamily and plays a critical role in regulating inflammation, immune response and tissue remodeling. It forms a stable complex with KLK7, functioning as an adipokine that modulates insulin action by specifically inhibiting its target protease in white adipose tissues. Dysregulation of Serpin A12 has been implicated in numerous diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and potential therapeutic interventions.

The assay has a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.09ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 8.1% and inter-assay CV of 10.3%. It is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Serpin A12. Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with recovery averaging 91% for serum (range 85-97%) and 93% for plasma (range 87-99%). The protein is secreted, has a molecular weight of 47,634 Da (UniProt Q7TMF5, NCBI Gene ID 68054). For research use only.
