TBK1, also known as T2K or TANK-binding kinase 1, is a serine/threonine kinase central to innate immune signalling. Following activation of toll-like receptors by viral or bacterial components, it associates with TRAF3 and TANK, phosphorylates IRF3, IRF7 and DDX3X, and drives transcriptional activation of pro-inflammatory and antiviral genes including IFNA and IFNB.
