Stem cell factor receptor (also called KIT or CD117), a type III receptor tyrosine kinase central to hematopoietic stem cell maintenance, mast cell biology, melanocyte development, and gametogenesis, can be quantified in murine samples with the microplate-based ELISA distributed by Assay Genie. Signaling through its ligand stem cell factor (SCF, also known as KITLG), SCFR controls mast cell differentiation, melanocyte survival, and germ cell function, which makes it a relevant analyte in gastrointestinal stromal tumor, mastocytosis, acute myeloid leukemia, pigmentation, and stem cell niche research. Each kit supplies reagents for 96 individual reactions in a matched antibody pair configuration, with an enzyme-driven colorimetric readout compatible with standard microplate absorbance readers. The procedure is performed in vitro for research use only and accepts clarified serum, heparinized plasma, tissue homogenates, and cell culture supernatants following standard dilution. Reagents should be refrigerated upon receipt and equilibrated before each run, and standard curves should be prepared freshly to maintain quantitative accuracy across replicate plates.
