Description

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Scavenger receptor cysteine-rich type 1 protein M130 (also known as CD163) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. CD163 is an acute phase-regulated receptor involved in the clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes by macrophages and may also play a role in the uptake and recycling of iron. After shedding, the soluble form (sCD163) may play an anti-inflammatory role. Dysregulation of M130/CD163 has been implicated in diseases including atherosclerosis, sepsis, and immune-mediated disorders, making it a biomarker of interest in immunological research.

The assay uses a sandwich ELISA format read on a microplate reader at 450 nm and is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Scavenger receptor cysteine-rich type 1 protein M130. Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.8%, and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Linearity in serum at dilutions 1:2 to 1:16 ranges from 89% to 123%, in EDTA plasma from 82% to 103%, and in heparin plasma from 90% to 117%. Recovery in serum averages 99% (range 93-105%) and in plasma averages 101% (range 95-107%). The target is a single-pass type I membrane protein located at the cell membrane that interacts with CSNK2B; the associated UniProt accession is Q2VLH6 and the reported molecular weight is 125,292 Da. The kit is intended for research use only within the research area of immunology.
