Mouse Scavenger receptor class B member 1 (Scarb1) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Scavenger receptor class B member 1 (Scarb1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm.

The assay recognises the natural and recombinant form of mouse Scarb1, with a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.331ng/mL. Scarb1 (synonyms: SR-BI, SRB1, Srb1) is a multi-pass membrane protein predominantly localised to cholesterol- and sphingomyelin-enriched caveolae of the plasma membrane. It functions as a receptor for phospholipids, cholesterol esters, lipoproteins, phosphatidylserine and apoptotic cells, facilitating the flux of free and esterified cholesterol between the cell surface and HDL, and contributing to the phagocytosis of apoptotic cells. Dysregulation of SCARB1 has been linked to atherosclerosis, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, making it a relevant target for cardiovascular research in mouse models.
