Mouse S-adenosylmethionine synthase isoform type-1 (Mat1a) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse S-adenosylmethionine synthase isoform type-1 (Mat1a) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with colorimetric readout. The assay is specific for both natural and recombinant mouse S-adenosylmethionine synthase isoform type-1.

Mat1a is an essential enzyme that catalyses the formation of S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) from methionine and ATP through a two-step reaction: synthesis of AdoMet and triphosphate, followed by hydrolysis of the triphosphate. Dysregulation of Mat1a has been linked to liver diseases, cancer and metabolic disorders, supporting its use as a biomarker in mouse research models. The protein functions as a homotetramer (MAT-I) or homodimer (MAT-III) and has a reported molecular weight of 43,509 Da. Synonyms include methionine adenosyltransferase 1, MAT 1 and AdoMet synthase 1.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.235-15 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.118 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.8%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery averaged 88% (range 82-94%) in serum and 90% (range 84-96%) in plasma. For research use only.
