Mouse Rhodopsin (Rho) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of rhodopsin in mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant mouse rhodopsin with a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.33ng/mL. Reported intra-assay precision is 5.2% CV and inter-assay precision is 8.4% CV. Rhodopsin is a photoreceptor protein required for image-forming vision at low light intensity, with UniProt entry P15409. Mutations in the rhodopsin gene have been linked to retinal degenerative diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa, making this kit a useful tool for research into retinal disease mechanisms and the development of targeted therapies. The kit is intended for research use only.

Linearity has been validated across multiple sample matrices at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16. In mouse serum (N=5), the measured ranges are 111-120%, 96-107%, 84-93%, and 106-116% respectively. For EDTA plasma (N=5), the corresponding ranges are 97-108%, 96-106%, 92-103%, and 111-121%. For heparin plasma (N=5), the ranges are 82-93%, 83-93%, 89-101%, and 103-112%. Recovery averages 87% in serum (range 81-93%) and 89% in plasma (range 83-95%). The assay readout is performed by measuring optical density at 450 nm on a microplate reader.
