Mouse Retinol-binding protein 4 (Rbp4) ELISA Kit

Designed by Assay Genie for the accurate measurement of retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) in mouse serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids, this sandwich-format ELISA kit uses a colorimetric detection method to deliver reliable, reproducible results for a variety of research applications.

The kit is reactive with mouse samples and targets mouse RBP4 with specificity for the natural and recombinant forms. Performance characteristics include a detection range of 3.12–200 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 1.72 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.4%, and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 95–105% at 1:2 dilution to 103–112% at 1:16 dilution; EDTA plasma spans 94–116% and heparin plasma spans 87–115% across the same dilution series. Recovery averages 84% for serum (range 80–90%) and 86% for plasma (range 80–92%).

RBP4 is a secreted protein that delivers retinol from the liver stores to peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin, which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli.
