Mouse Regenerating islet-derived protein 3-beta (Reg3b) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Regenerating islet-derived protein 3-beta (REG3B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse REG3B and is intended for research use only.

REG3B is involved in the regeneration and repair of tissues, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract, and helps maintain gut integrity while protecting against bacterial infections. It is a bactericidal C-type lectin active against several intestinal Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, although it lacks activity against S. typhimurium and may protect against infection with S. enteritidis by inhibiting its translocation from the gut lumen into intestinal and extraintestinal tissues. Abnormal REG3B levels have been associated with inflammatory bowel diseases and microbial dysbiosis, making the protein a useful biomarker for these conditions. The native protein is secreted and localised to the apical region of pancreatic acinar cells, with a reported molecular weight of 19,476 Da.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.78–50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.424 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.4% and an inter-assay CV of 8.7%. Recovery in serum is 110–120% (average 116%) and in plasma is 112–120% (average 118%). The kit is supplied with a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate solution, stop solution and a plate sealer, together with a detailed protocol.
