Retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP-4) is a 21 kDa circulating transport protein that delivers vitamin A (retinol) from hepatic stores to peripheral tissues. Mouse RBP-4 levels in serum and cell culture supernatant are widely used in metabolic disease research, including studies of obesity, insulin resistance, hepatic steatosis, and type 2 diabetes pathophysiology. This competitive immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured for 96 assays and validated for quantitative measurement of mouse RBP-4 in serum and conditioned cell culture medium.
