Pyruvate carboxylase is a biotin-dependent mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyzes the ATP-driven carboxylation of pyruvate to oxaloacetate, an anaplerotic reaction central to gluconeogenesis, de novo lipogenesis, and replenishment of TCA cycle intermediates in liver, adipose, and pancreatic tissue. The Assay Genie Mouse Pyruvate Carboxylase ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of PC protein in mouse serum or plasma samples using a matched-antibody capture format on a microplate with an absorbance-based readout.

Each kit contains reagents sufficient for ninety-six determinations, supporting high-throughput screening in metabolic disease research including diet-induced obesity models, hepatic insulin resistance studies, non-alcoholic fatty liver investigations, and pancreatic beta-cell function analyses. Capture and detection antibodies are raised against the mouse PC isoform and show limited reactivity with closely related carboxylases under standard assay conditions.

Reconstituted standards and undiluted specimens are added to pre-coated wells, with chromogenic signal developed through TMB substrate and stopped prior to absorbance measurement. Supplied components include the assay plate, standard diluent, wash buffer concentrate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, TMB substrate, and stop solution. Store refrigerated between uses to preserve antibody binding activity. The kit is intended for research use only in laboratory applications and is not approved for diagnostic or clinical procedures.
