PDXP is a protein serine phosphatase involved in vitamin B6 metabolism through hydrolysis of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP), and it dephosphorylates 'Ser-3' in cofilin to regulate cofilin-dependent actin cytoskeleton reorganization. Dysregulation of PDXP has been associated with metabolic and neurological conditions. According to manufacturer data, the assay has a detection range of 78-5000pg/ml and a sensitivity of 39.4pg/mL.

Reported precision includes an intra-assay CV of 6.6% and inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Recovery averages 86% (range 80-92%) in serum and 88% (range 82-94%) in plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse PDXP (UniProt P60487), which functions as a homodimer, and is for research use only.
