Mouse Pulmonary surfactant-associated protein D (Sftpd) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies this Sandwich ELISA Kit for the quantitative measurement of mouse pulmonary surfactant-associated protein D (Sftpd) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay recognizes both natural and recombinant mouse Sftpd. The target protein contributes to the lung's defense against inhaled microorganisms, organic antigens and toxins, interacts with compounds such as bacterial lipopolysaccharides, oligosaccharides and fatty acids, and modulates leukocyte action in immune response. It may also participate in the extracellular reorganization or turnover of pulmonary surfactant and binds strongly to maltose residues.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is given as a CV of 4.6% and inter-assay precision as a CV of 8.8%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Average recovery is 97% (range 91-103) for serum and 99% (range 93-105) for plasma. Detection is by colorimetric ELISA, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader.

The native target is described as an oligomeric complex of four sets of homotrimers, secreted and localized to the extracellular space, extracellular matrix and surface film. The kit is intended for research use only and is relevant to work in immunology.
