Mouse Pulmonary surfactant-associated protein B (Sftpb) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Pulmonary surfactant-associated protein B (SFTPB), with reactivity specific to mouse samples. The colorimetric assay covers a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.406ng/mL, and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant mouse SFTPB, a disulfide-linked homodimer secreted into the extracellular space and surface film.

SFTPB lowers surface tension at the air-liquid interface to maintain alveolar stability, with SP-B increasing the collapse pressure of palmitic acid to nearly 70 millinewtons per meter. Dysregulation of SFTPB is associated with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and pulmonary fibrosis, and defects are linked to pulmonary surfactant metabolism dysfunction type 1 (SMDP1) and genetic susceptibility to respiratory distress syndrome in premature infants. The kit is supplied with an ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer.
