Usher syndrome type 1F, a recessive disorder characterized by congenital sensorineural deafness combined with progressive retinitis pigmentosa, results from loss-of-function mutations in the PCDH15 gene encoding Protocadherin 15. This transmembrane cadherin-related protein is essential for the proper development and function of inner ear hair cell stereocilia and retinal photoreceptor integrity. The Assay Genie Mouse PCDH15 ELISA Kit is supplied as a complete immunoassay kit sufficient for 96 assays, supporting quantitative detection of mouse PCDH15 in tissue homogenates and prepared research specimens. Standard curve-based absorbance readings provide concentration data for studies into auditory mechanotransduction, hair bundle morphogenesis, photoreceptor maintenance, and inherited sensory disease mechanisms. The kit is intended for research use only in laboratory settings.
