Protein Z (PROZ) is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein that acts as a cofactor for the serpin protein Z-dependent protease inhibitor (ZPI) in regulating factor Xa activity within the coagulation cascade. In mouse models, circulating PROZ levels serve as a biomarker in studies of thrombosis, ischemic stroke, and hepatic protein synthesis. The Assay Genie ELISA Kit employs a pre-coated capture antibody approach to quantify endogenous PROZ in murine plasma samples, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against rat plasma proteins or human PROZ.
Each kit ships with a microplate, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, and substrate solution sufficient for 96 determinations. The recommended sample volume is 50 uL per well, run in duplicate for optimal reproducibility. Component stability requires refrigerated storage at 4 degrees C, with the standard and biotin-conjugate aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 degrees C to preserve activity through repeated freeze-thaw cycles. This product is supplied for research use only, supporting applications in hemostasis, vascular biology, and coagulation factor research.
