Description

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the precise quantitative measurement of WNT-2 (Wnt-2) levels in mouse serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants, as well as in tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. Natural and recombinant mouse Protein Wnt-2 are both recognised by the assay, and detection is performed by colorimetric ELISA readout with absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Reactivity is limited to mouse samples, and the stated research area is cancer.

Reported performance characteristics, as supplied by the manufacturer, include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.089 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.1% and inter-assay CV is 8.8%. Linearity in serum (N=5) spans 101-110%, 81-90%, 96-105% and 97-109% across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions respectively, with EDTA plasma at 113-123%, 88-100%, 99-109% and 91-101%, and heparin plasma at 106-117%, 104-116%, 103-113% and 106-116%. Mean recovery is 101% (range 95-107%) in serum and 103% (range 97-109%) in plasma.

WNT-2 is described as a ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors and as a probable developmental signaling molecule that may act over only a few cell diameters. It belongs to the Wnt family and is implicated in neuron differentiation, cell-cell signaling, multicellular organismal development, positive regulation of cell proliferation and the canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway through beta-catenin. The protein is secreted and located in the extracellular space and extracellular matrix. UniProt accession P21552 reports a molecular weight of 40,482 Da. Reagents are stored at -20°C, with wash buffer, substrate and stop solution stored at 4°C, and the kit is shipped at +4°C. For research use only.
