Mouse Protein S100-A1 (S100a1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Protein S100-A1 (S100a1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and detects natural and recombinant mouse Protein S100-A1. It is intended for research use only.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.166ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.3% and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Linearity has been validated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and recovery averages 102% in serum (range 96-108%) and 104% in plasma (range 98-110%).

S100A1 is a calcium-binding protein involved in regulating cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis, with dysregulation linked to cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative conditions and cancer. The protein weakly binds calcium but binds zinc very tightly, with distinct binding sites for both ions on each monomer, and may mediate calcium-dependent regulation on many physiological processes by interacting with TPR-containing proteins.
