Mouse Protein phosphatase methylesterase 1 (Ppme1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse Protein phosphatase methylesterase 1 (Ppme1), also referred to by the synonyms PME-1 and Pme1. The kit is validated for mouse reactivity and accepts sample types including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It is intended for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.625–40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.316ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.7% and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%. Linearity values for serum at 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions are 89–97%, 98–110%, 81–90%, and 100–109%; EDTA plasma values across the same dilutions are 105–114%, 84–93%, 100–110%, and 87–99%; and heparin plasma values are 112–122%, 99–108%, 116–128%, and 107–117%. Recovery averages 106% (range 100–112%) in serum and 108% (range 102–114%) in plasma. The assay is specific to natural and recombinant mouse Protein phosphatase methylesterase 1.

According to the manufacturer's description, PPME1 demethylates proteins that have been reversibly carboxymethylated, acting on PPP2CB in vitro and on PPP2CA, with binding to PPP2CA displacing the manganese ion and inactivating the enzyme. The protein belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily and carries the UniProt accession Q8BVQ5. The manufacturer notes that dysregulation of PPME1 has been linked to cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic syndromes, positioning it as a biomarker of interest in studies of signal transduction, gene expression, and protein function.
