Mouse Prostaglandin G/H synthase 1 (Ptgs1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Prostaglandin G/H synthase 1 (Ptgs1), also known as cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1). The target enzyme is involved in the conversion of arachidonate to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2), a committed step in prostanoid synthesis, and in the constitutive production of prostanoids in particular in the stomach and platelets. The assay is reactive with mouse samples and uses an ELISA-based colorimetric detection method.

Manufacturer specifications report a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.084ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is listed as 5.5% and inter-assay CV as 8.2%. Linearity in serum (N=5) is given as 102-111% at 1:2, 82-92% at 1:4, 103-113% at 1:8 and 103-115% at 1:16 dilution; in EDTA plasma (N=5) as 99-111%, 89-98%, 95-107% and 105-115%; and in heparin plasma (N=5) as 99-109%, 109-118%, 91-103% and 86-95% across the same dilutions. Recovery is reported at an average of 88% (range 82-94%) for serum and 90% (range 84-96%) for plasma.

The kit is intended for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids and recognises both natural and recombinant mouse Prostaglandin G/H synthase 1.
