Mouse Properdin (Cfp) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of properdin (complement factor P) in mouse samples. The kit is validated for serum and plasma, with tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids also listed as accepted sample types. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant mouse Properdin.

The assay operates across a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 7.8 pg/ml. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.4% and an inter-assay CV of 8.9%. Linearity has been characterised in serum (N=5) at dilutions of 1:2 (99–111%), 1:4 (104–116%), 1:8 (105–113%) and 1:16 (87–97%), with corresponding ranges recorded for EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Average recovery is reported as 104% for serum (range 98–110%) and 106% for plasma (range 100–112%).

In the source material, properdin (Cfp) is described as a positive regulator of the alternative complement pathway, binding to and stabilising the C3- and C5-convertase enzyme complexes. The protein is secreted and in plasma exists as dimers, trimers or tetramers in the relative proportions of 26:54:20.
