Mouse Prolactin (Prl) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA designed by Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of mouse Prolactin (PRL) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with mouse samples and is intended for research use only.

According to the manufacturer's specification, the assay has a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.087 ng/mL. Reported precision values are 5.2% intra-CV and 8.6% inter-CV. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (83-91%, 99-109%, 101-110%, 107-115% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (104-113%, 94-103%, 92-102%, 93-103%) and heparin plasma (104-113%, 91-103%, 107-120%, 109-121%). Recovery is reported at 97% (range 91-103%) for serum and 99% (range 93-105%) for plasma. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Prolactin.

Prolactin is described as a secreted cytokine of the somatotropin/prolactin family that acts primarily on the mammary gland to promote lactation, with broader roles in reproduction, JAK-STAT signalling, mammary gland development and maternal behaviour (UniProt P06879). The molecular weight is 25,496 Da. Absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
