Mouse Prokineticin-2 (Prok2) ELISA Kit

A research-use-only ELISA from Assay Genie, this Mouse Prokineticin-2 (Prok2) kit is intended for the measurement of PROK2 levels in mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit specifically recognises natural and recombinant mouse Prokineticin-2, with listed synonyms including Protein Bv8 homolog, PK2 and Bv8.

Reported properties include a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.164ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.2% and inter-assay CV is 9.5%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5 per matrix). Average recovery values are 98% (range 92-104%) for serum and 100% (range 94-106%) for plasma.

PROK2 is described as a secreted protein (UniProt Q9QXU7) that may act as an output signal from the suprachiasmatic nucleus to transmit behavioural circadian rhythm and may also function locally within the SCN to synchronise output, while potently contracting gastrointestinal smooth muscle. The protein has been linked to roles in circadian rhythm regulation, neurogenesis and reproduction, with dysregulation associated with infertility, sleep disorders and neurological conditions.
