Mouse Proenkephalin-A (Penk) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit enables the quantitative measurement of Proenkephalin-A (PENK) in mouse samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only within immunology-focused studies.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78–5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39 pg/mL. Precision is described by an intra-assay CV of 6.8% and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Dilution linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (N=5 each) across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. Spiked recovery averages 86% (range 80–92%) for serum and 88% (range 82–94%) for plasma. Specificity is for natural and recombinant mouse Proenkephalin-A.

Proenkephalin A is a secreted precursor within the opioid neuropeptide precursor family; the derived Met- and Leu-enkephalins compete with and mimic the effects of opiate drugs and participate in physiologic functions including pain perception and responses to stress. The kit is supplied with a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilised standard, sample diluent, assay diluents A and B, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer; absorbance is read at 450 nm.
