PPAR-alpha (Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor alpha) is a ligand-activated nuclear receptor that governs fatty acid catabolism, lipoprotein assembly, and inflammatory gene programs in metabolically active tissues such as liver, heart, skeletal muscle, and kidney. The Assay Genie Mouse PPAR-alpha ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of this transcription factor in mouse-derived specimens, supporting research into dyslipidemia, hepatic steatosis, atherosclerosis, insulin resistance, and drug-induced peroxisome proliferation.

Built for research use only, the kit provides reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations run on a standard microplate. Samples are processed using a two-antibody capture-detection format with an absorbance-based readout, and the assay works with mouse-derived serum samples, plasma specimens, tissue lysates, and cell culture supernatants. Each kit includes a pre-coated plate, detection antibody, calibrated standards, and the buffers required to generate a standard curve and quantify endogenous PPAR-alpha levels.

Typical laboratory workflows pair this ELISA with downstream western blot or qPCR validation of PPAR-alpha target genes such as ACOX1, CPT1A, and FABP1, allowing researchers to connect changes in receptor protein abundance to transcriptional output. The kit is intended for in vitro research applications; store refrigerated upon receipt to maintain reagent stability across its shelf life.
