POU3F3 (Uniprot P31361, NCBI Gene ID 18993, molecular weight 50,200 Da) is a nuclear DNA-binding transcription factor of the POU family, class-3 subfamily. It acts synergistically with SOX11 and SOX4, has a role in neuronal development, and is implicated in enhancer activity at the embryonic met-mesencephalic junction where the enhancer element contains the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3').
