Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate measurement of Mouse Potassium/sodium hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel 2 (HCN2) in mouse samples. The product is reactive with mouse and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. It detects natural and recombinant mouse HCN2, also known by the synonyms Brain cyclic nucleotide-gated channel 2, Hyperpolarization-activated cation channel 1, BCNG-2, HAC-1, Bcng2 and Hac1.

HCN2 is a hyperpolarization-activated ion channel exhibiting weak selectivity for potassium over sodium ions. It contributes to the native pacemaker currents in heart (If) and in neurons (Ih), and can also transport ammonium in the distal nephron, producing a large instantaneous current. According to the manufacturer, dysregulation of HCN2 has been linked to various neurological disorders, including epilepsy and neuropathic pain, making the kit relevant to research into membrane potential regulation and excitability. The reference UniProt entry is O88703 with a reported molecular weight of 94,722 Da.

Reported performance figures are a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.172ng/mL. Precision is given as an intra-assay CV of 6.3% and an inter-assay CV of 9.9%. Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 was reported as: serum (N=5) 102-112%, 103-113%, 106-116%, 88-97%; EDTA plasma (N=5) 103-113%, 105-116%, 109-118%, 102-111%; heparin plasma (N=5) 102-112%, 113-125%, 87-100%, 105-115%. Recovery averaged 103% in serum (range 97-109%) and 105% in plasma (range 99-111%). For research use only.
