Mouse POMC/Proopiomelanocortin ELISA Kit

This colorimetric sandwich double-antibody ELISA from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative measurement of mouse Proopiomelanocortin (POMC) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate and other liquid samples. POMC is described as a precursor protein that gives rise to bioactive peptides involved in regulating appetite, stress response and melanin production, and its dysregulation has been linked to metabolic disorders, inflammatory conditions and neural diseases. The workflow uses a pre-coated microplate, a biotin-labelled detection antibody, HRP-Streptavidin binding and TMB substrate, with absorbance measured at 450 nm.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.234 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.391-25 ng/mL. Linearity by serial dilution was demonstrated in serum (85-103%), EDTA plasma (82-99%) and heparin plasma (80-97%). Spike-and-recovery averages were 97% for serum, 99% for EDTA plasma and 97% for heparin plasma.
