Mouse Podocalyxin (PCX) ELISA Kit

Podocalyxin is a heavily glycosylated sialomucin and CD34-family transmembrane glycoprotein best known as a structural component of glomerular podocyte foot processes, where its negative surface charge contributes to the charge-selective barrier of the kidney filtration slit. The protein is also expressed on vascular endothelium, hematopoietic progenitor cells, and a range of epithelial and tumor cell types, making it a target of interest in renal injury models, vascular biology, stem cell characterization, and oncology research.

The Assay Genie Mouse Podocalyxin (PCX) ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of this target in mouse tissue homogenates and cell lysates. Supplied as a 96-assay kit, the procedure uses a matched antibody pair immobilized on a microplate, with signal read as absorbance on a standard plate reader. Common applications include tracking podocyte damage in models of diabetic nephropathy, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, and ischemia-reperfusion injury, as well as profiling PCX expression in tumor cell preparations and endothelial samples. The kit is intended for research use only and is not cleared for diagnostic procedures.
