Mouse Platelet glycoprotein IX (Gp9) ELISA Kit

GP9 is a single-pass type I membrane protein that forms part of the GPIb-V-IX complex, which functions as the von Willebrand factor (vWF) receptor and mediates vWF-dependent platelet adhesion to blood vessels — a critical initiating event in hemostasis. GP-IX may also provide for membrane insertion and orientation of GP-Ib. Defects in GP9 are a cause of Bernard-Soulier syndrome (BSS), also known as giant platelet disease, in which patients exhibit unusually large platelets and a clinical bleeding tendency. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Platelet glycoprotein IX (UniProt O88186) and is intended for research use only.
