This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie quantifies Platelet/Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (PECAM1, also known as CD31) in mouse plasma samples. PECAM1 is a ~130 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein concentrated at endothelial intercellular junctions and on the platelet surface, where it supports leukocyte transendothelial migration, integrin activation, and maintenance of vascular barrier integrity during angiogenesis, inflammation, and tissue repair.

The kit is supplied in a 96 assays format, appropriate for research use only in studies of cardiovascular disease, sepsis, transplant rejection, tumor angiogenesis, and endothelial dysfunction. Detection relies on an enzyme-labeled antibody pair immobilized within microplate wells, generating a colorimetric signal whose intensity is proportional to PECAM1 concentration in calibrators and unknown samples.

Plasma is collected in EDTA or heparin tubes, separated by centrifugation, aliquoted, and stored frozen; repeated freeze-thaw cycles of prepared samples should be avoided to preserve analyte integrity. The protocol insert that accompanies each production lot provides the actual standard curve range, recommended sample dilution, and intra-assay and inter-assay precision values verified for that specific batch.
