A quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie for measuring tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) levels in mouse specimens via ELISA. tPA is a 527-amino-acid serine protease encoded by the PLAT gene that catalyzes the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, the central enzymatic step of the fibrinolytic cascade that dissolves fibrin clots. Researchers apply this ELISA to studies of thrombosis, ischemic stroke, vascular remodeling, and inflammatory disease models in which altered fibrinolytic activity contributes to pathology. The kit accommodates multiple specimen matrices, supporting both longitudinal monitoring and terminal experimental designs. Each kit ships with microplate wells pre-coated with capture antibody, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, standards, and buffers required to generate a calibration curve. The chromogenic signal is read on a standard plate reader, and results are quantified against the supplied standard. Useful for research use only investigations in academic and pharmaceutical laboratories studying coagulation, clot lysis, and tissue remodeling in murine models of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease.
