The Mouse PKIa (Protein Kinase Inhibitor Alpha) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie quantifies endogenous PKIA, a small heat- and acid-stable inhibitor that binds the catalytic subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) and modulates the cAMP/PKA signaling cascade implicated in glycogen metabolism, steroidogenesis, neuronal plasticity, and cardiac contractility. The assay uses a sandwich immunoassay format on a pre-coated microplate with colorimetric detection and is intended for research use only.

Each kit provides a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized reference standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, concentrated wash buffer, TMB substrate solution, and stop solution. Sample volume is 50 uL per well for serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The capture antibody is mouse-specific, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against related kinase inhibitors such as PKIB or PKIG. Laboratories working on metabolic disease, neuroscience, and cardiovascular biology use this kit to compare PKIA expression across inbred mouse strains, transgenic models, diet-induced obesity cohorts, and pharmacologically treated animals.

Unopened reagents should be stored at -20 degrees C upon arrival and equilibrated to room temperature before use; lyophilized standards and detection antibody benefit from aliquoting to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The kit ships with a printed protocol and a quick-reference standard curve worksheet to support reproducible quantification of PKIA in cell culture supernatants, tissue homogenates, and primary hepatocyte or neuronal lysates.
