Mouse Phospholipase A2 (Pla2g1b) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Phospholipase A2 (PLA2G1B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. PLA2G1B (also known as Group IB phospholipase A2, PLA2-Ib, or Phosphatidylcholine 2-acylhydrolase 1B) catalyzes the calcium-dependent hydrolysis of the 2-acyl groups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides, releasing glycerophospholipids and arachidonic acid that serve as precursors of signal molecules. The inactive pro-form is secreted from pancreatic acinar cells, and PLA2G1B is highlighted in the cardiovascular research area. PLA2 enzymes are described as relevant to studying conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory disorders, and neurological diseases through their role in lipid metabolism and inflammation.

Stated performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.158 ng/mL, an Intra Assay CV of 6.8% and an Inter Assay CV of 10.1%. Specificity is given for natural and recombinant mouse Phospholipase A2. Linearity has been validated across sample dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (ranges of 91–101%, 87–99%, 111–120% and 89–101%), EDTA plasma (99–109%, 104–116%, 100–109% and 100–109%) and heparin plasma (108–118%, 108–117%, 111–121% and 107–116%). Spike-and-recovery averages are reported as 111% (range 105–117%) for serum and 113% (range 107–119%) for plasma. The reported molecular weight of PLA2G1B is 16,290 Da, and the protein is described as a monomer or homodimer, with the inactive pro-form being a homotrimer.
