Mouse Phosphatidylcholine-sterol acyltransferase (Lcat) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Phosphatidylcholine-sterol acyltransferase (LCAT). The assay is reactive with mouse samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Detection is by colorimetric ELISA, with a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Specificity is confirmed against both natural and recombinant mouse LCAT. LCAT is a central enzyme in the extracellular metabolism of plasma lipoproteins, synthesised mainly in the liver and secreted into plasma, where it converts cholesterol and phosphatidylcholines to cholesteryl esters and lysophosphatidylcholines on the surface of HDL and LDL particles. Dysregulation of LCAT activity is associated with cardiovascular diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for research in cardiovascular health and lipid metabolism. For research use only.
