PDGF-AB is a heterodimeric growth factor isoform, assembled by disulfide linkage of one PDGF-A and one PDGF-B polypeptide chain, and signals through PDGFR-alpha and PDGFR-beta tyrosine kinase receptors to drive mesenchymal cell proliferation, chemotaxis, and extracellular matrix deposition.

This Assay Genie kit quantifies mouse PDGF-AB with a standard curve spanning 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose of approximately 7.8 pg/mL. The microplate is pre-coated with a capture antibody specific to the AB heterodimer, and bound analyte is detected with a biotinylated secondary antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and TMB substrate read at 450 nm.

Common research applications include murine wound healing models, pulmonary and hepatic fibrosis studies, vascular injury and restenosis research, atherosclerosis progression, and tumor microenvironment analysis. The protocol accommodates a 50 uL sample volume of serum, plasma, or conditioned medium and runs in approximately 3.5 hours including incubation steps.
