Mouse Pappalysin-1 (Pappa) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Mouse Pappalysin-1 (Pappa), also known as PAPP-A, Insulin-like growth factor-dependent IGF-binding protein 4 protease, Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A, and IGF-dependent IGFBP-4 protease. The assay is reactive with mouse samples and uses an ELISA-based detection method.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit covers a detection range of 0.156–10ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay CV of 6.8% and an inter-assay CV of 8.7%. Linearity has been characterised in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, and average recovery is 99% (range 93–105%) for serum and 101% (range 95–107%) for plasma. The kit is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and detects both natural and recombinant mouse Pappalysin-1.

Pappalysin-1 is described as a metalloproteinase that specifically cleaves IGFBP-4 and IGFBP-5, releasing bound IGF; cleavage of IGFBP-4 is dramatically enhanced by the presence of IGF, while cleavage of IGFBP-5 is slightly inhibited by IGF. The product is supplied for research use only.
