Mouse Pancreatic prohormone (Ppy) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric, Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse pancreatic prohormone (Ppy). The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse pancreatic prohormone and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It is intended for research use only and is associated with the signal transduction research area.

The kit offers a detection range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 15.64 pg/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported at 6.5% CV and inter-assay precision at 8.9% CV. Recovery testing returned average values of 87% (range 81–93%) for serum and 89% (range 83–95%) for plasma. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions falls within 92–120% for serum, 80–119% for EDTA plasma and 87–119% for heparin plasma samples.

Pancreatic prohormone is synthesized in pancreatic islets of Langerhans and acts as a regulator of pancreatic and gastrointestinal functions. It is a secreted protein, belongs to the NPY family, and has been implicated in cell-cell signalling, digestion, feeding behaviour, neuropeptide signalling and regulation of appetite.
