Description

Assay Genie's Mouse PACAP (Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide) ELISA Kit is a sandwich, double-antibody ELISA designed for the accurate and precise quantification of PACAP levels in mouse serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. PACAP is a vital neuropeptide that plays a crucial role in modulating neurotransmission, neuronal survival, and neuroprotection, and its dysregulation has been implicated in various neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and exploring potential therapeutic interventions.

The colorimetric assay offers a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL across a measuring range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL, with absorbance read at 450 nm following TMB substrate development. The procedure uses a biotin-labeled detection antibody and HRP-Streptavidin conjugate (SABC), and the kit includes a lyophilized standard, a pre-coated dismountable microplate, and the buffers and wash solution required to run the protocol. All reagents should be equilibrated to room temperature before use.

Linearity has been validated in serum (81–99%), EDTA plasma (87–105%), and heparin plasma (81–104%) across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8. Recovery ranges were 95–102% for serum, 85–104% for EDTA plasma, and 84–98% for heparin plasma. The kit is stable for 12 months when stored at 2–8°C. Target synonyms recognised by the kit include PACAP, Adcyap1, and ADCYAP1.
