Mouse OXB (Orexin B) ELISA Kit (MOES01087)

Orexin B, also known as OXB, is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide secreted by lateral hypothalamic neurons that signals through OX1R and OX2R G-protein-coupled receptors to regulate arousal, feeding behavior, and reward pathways. This Assay Genie Mouse Orexin B ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of endogenous OXB levels in mouse research specimens and is applied in narcolepsy models, sleep-architecture studies, appetite-suppression investigations, and addiction neuroscience.

The kit provides reagents for 96 individual assays in a competitive ELISA workflow read on standard microplate readers in an in vitro laboratory setting. Within each well, sample analyte competes with a conjugated OXB tracer for binding sites, and unknown concentrations are interpolated from a standard curve generated on every plate. Compatible specimen inputs include hypothalamic tissue punches, brain-stem extracts, plasma or serum samples, and cell-culture supernatants harvested from rodent experimental paradigms.

Reconstituted components should be refrigerated between uses, with aliquoted standards recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycling.
